Without further ado, meet this week’s quote:
“He studied me with his predator’s gaze, assessing me from head to toe. I studied him back. He didn’t just occupy space; he saturated it. The room had been full of books before, now it was full of him. About thirty, six foot two or three, he had dark hair, golden skin, and dark eyes. His features were strong, chiseled. I couldn’t pinpoint his nationality any more than I could his accent; some kind of European crossed with Old World Mediterranean or maybe an ancestor with dark Gypsy blood. He wore an elegant, dark gray Italian suit, a crisp white shirt, and a muted patterned tie. He wasn’t handsome. That was too calm a word. He was intensely masculine. He was sexual. He attracted. There was an omnipresent carnality about him, in his dark eyes, in his full mouth, in the way he stood. He was the kind of man I wouldn’t flirt with in a million years.”
~MacKayla Lane in Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning- about Jericho Barrons, the sexiest man in fiction.
Is that not the sexiest description of a man ever?

And he’s totally more awesome than #NakedWerewolves.
Just sayin.

*whispers* Lion’s loins are the best. They make magical lion babies.
It’s clear Amanda @ On a Book Bender hasn’t read these books.
But then, I’ve never read about lion’s loins and magical lion babies.
*intrigued*

I have read all of these books. I just didn’t love them as much as everyone else. Sorry. My love remains with lion loins.

That almost hurts my heart. But then I realized – MORE BARRONS FOR ME.
But I should probably read about lion loins, eh?
Yes, Mandi. You should read about lion’s loins. But only if you agree that Barrons is yours and Curran is mine. Deal?

Deal. But you might have to actually tell me what these books are called so I *can* read them.

WHAT?! You mean you can’t just search “lion’s loins” and get it all figured out? (actually, in a couple weeks, you’ll be able to do that on my blog. lol)
It’s the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews.
Oh! That series has been on my TBR for ages. Should I pick up the first one next week when I can finally go on a book buying spree?
YES!!!!
You might also want the second one. The second is definitely better than the first.
Duly noted.

And then you should also get the third book, because that is even better than the second.
You make me laugh.
I’m just going to jump in here and say that Curran’s magical lion loins are a thing of beauty. Amanda is absolutely correct in saying that you must read this series. Then you can go around saying “The lion’s loins were fruitful today.” Plus, it’s always fun to talk about magical lion babies. We love the magical lion babies.
(PS: I totally love Barrons too!)
