4 Stars

What can I say? I like romances. I really do. Even when they’re not the most well-written or they’re full of stereotypes and tropes – I still love them! So long as they end up with the fairy-tale HEA, that is.

In Permanent, bad-boy Shane is a tattoo artist who instantly falls for his new neighbor Lindsay. And Lindsay is… well Lindsay is a mess. I love reading about hot messes, don’t you? Lindsay is an accountant who just moved to California and tries so very hard to be who she thinks the California accountant should be. But she is irresistibly drawn to Shane, just as he is to her. And surprise! It turns out that Shane has been getting letters from the IRS because he’s going to be audited at his shop.

Is that kismet or what?

Before long, the two are completely head over heels but still refusing to admit it which results in hijinx and hilarity (as most romance novels inevitably do).

I spent a fair amount of time wanting to wring both of their necks while I was reading this. Just be forewarned.

I won’t tell you what happens, but it does follow the standard romance formula (this isn’t a bad thing). If you like a good romance, then you’ll really like this series.

What Others Are Saying:

  • Seductive Romance Reviews:  I found the overall story line to be deceptively sweet (let’s face it, some people think tattoo shop owner, mo-hawk and covered in tattoos: bad news).  As I stated before, it took a while for me to get into the book but once I did I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to reading about Emily and Ivan’s relationship.
  • One More Chapter ReviewsIt was such a nice breath of fresh air because this one was written like a true romance should be.  They meet under some funny circumstances, they both know they’re attracted to one another, differences keep them apart but they can’t fight the pull of desire for one another.
  • Long and Short ReviewsI appreciated how gentle and kind Shane was towards Lindsey, and I liked how their relationship progressed. It would have been perfect if they had come across as more sincere.
